Read a note from rivals-to-lovers novel Power Moves author Leesa Ronald.

Hello legend readers!
I am so excited for you to dive into this book. I started writing it without ever knowing if it was going to be published so I wrote exactly how I wanted to, throwing everything onto the page. One idea led to another idea and that led to another idea and suddenly I had a crazy rollercoaster of a story.
The idea for this book came started with Millsy, the main character. I wanted to write about a young woman working for an older man in politics. It’s a dynamic that plays out regularly, and when I started writing I didn’t know if this was going to be a good thing or a bad thing for Millsy.
There are so many discussable themes in this book. The cost of ambition, workplace standards, politics and whether it’s really as dire as we tend to believe these days.
I also really want to know, do you like Archie? Have you met a Boss? Do you think you carry the internalised expectations from your parents your whole life?
DM me on Instagram @leesaronaldwrites. I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Underlying everything, this is a story about the good stuff in life: family, love, hope and the power of ourselves, to decide how we want to see the world and live our lives.
I hope you enjoy! And thank you for reading!
Leesa
