Have you ever wondered about how a decision you made years ago still shapes your life today …

I’ve always been fascinated by how one decision can change the arc of your life. For example, if my parents hadn’t immigrated to Australia, who and where would I be now? Twenty-five years ago, I was invited to two weddings on the same day on opposite sides of the country. I went to Canberra where I met Jamie—we eventually married and had two kids. If I’d gone to the wedding in Perth, what would my life would look like today?

These are some of the thoughts that led me to write Every Time She Wakes.

But as a psychological thriller writer, I’ve set up many more twists and turns!

Careers counsellor Suze made a decision two decades ago which re-surfaces as she

becomes embroiled with an outspoken radio DJ. When Suze and her family are

kidnapped during a bushfire emergency, she thinks it’s the end—until the van crashes and sends her two weeks back in time.

But only Suze remembers those two weeks. As a former psychologist, she questions her mind: was the kidnap a premonition or her brain playing tricks? She considers the choices she has made … and tries to change them to keep her family safe. Then the kidnap happens again. And again.

Every time Suze wakes, she’s in a different version of her life.
